About The Charge
Supporting EV charging demand
As of 2022, there are an estimated 477,000 electric vehicles on the UK’s roads being serviced by just 34,000 public EV charging points. Of these, only c. 6,000 of these qualify as being ‘Rapid’ or ‘Ultra-Rapid’ (43kW+ output).
What the data suggests
Analysis shows 65% of all charge points are located in cities and high-density areas, with more publicly available charging points in London compared to the entirety of England’s counties.
The Charge recognises that to meet the national target of net zero emissions by 2050, the whole of the UK needs to have the infrastructure in place to accommodate electric vehicles.
What our experience tells us
With decades of combined experience in the development, management and funding of real estate assets, the team behind The Charge believes that rapid Electric Vehicle Charge Centres (EVCCs), supported by the security of underlying real estate assets, is the future of nationwide EV charging.
